A sure sign the End is Near....
by King Solomon inthe end of the month, that is, and someone apparently needs to get their hours in.... this resourceful jw (in the left side of the photo) set up shop for a few hours outside a local starbucks, with a wt and awake laid out on a table.
and i i don't think he talked to anyone the whole time he was out there (a few hours).. sure beats all that walking from door-to-door, which would likely result in a bunch of not-at-homes on a weekday: most people are at work.. (i approached him when entering, and asked him about the parable of faithful and "discreet" slave, and asked him what he thought the difference was between a parable and prophecy.
after getting a non-answer (that basically meant he didn't know), i wished him a good morning and went on my way.... .

When you did that, you made their day: they probably got on a walkie-talkie and said, "Roll! We've got us a shredder! Move, move, move!!".... You shredded and trashed, and that counts as a legit placement in their eyes, so they got to replace it, LOL!
What you SHOULD have done was encased each of the pages in a plastic laminate, rebound it and attached it to the bench. THAT would be working against their placement count....

that reminds me of this guy i knew back when i was stuck in prison/the wtbts.
he'd take his magazine and study it in the park as if someone would approach him.
of course he was pioneering and rejected by bethel lmao. i guess he was too much a dbag for even them. what's sad is he would count that time.
i guess i can't be too mad at him. the shitty way he treated me helped push me out into the real world.
the creeptastic way they do street witnessing here amazes me as well. i used to love doing that early mornings. i'd walk around and actually approach people with a short message and a tract. if they wanted to talk then i'd be more than happy to. coming to nyc as a nonjw, i expected them to do something similar, i mean, the entire city is primed for that and yet they just stand there in the sub stations with a blank look on their faces with the mags out. it's f'in creepy
sidenote and totally off topic, i had the pleasure of ripping up a magazine and tossing it in the trash at a bus stop in nj. when i did that, a car pulled up and then took off. i dunno if it was witnesses who planned on leaving their trash or not, but that was kind of the impression i got. they sped outta there pretty quick when i was ripping the magazine and tossing it.

Does the current Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses go out in field service in Brooklyn ?

however it appears that perhaps the "slowdown" in service activity might be traced to headquarters.
the "read the bible sign" is going the way of the dinosaurs..with the move to "the compound" upstate perhaps "advertise, advertise, advertise" has been replaced with "hide, hide, hide"...the king and his kingdom.

i live in nyc and maybe it's just me, it's PROBABLY just me, but i NEVER see witnesses going door to door. maybe once in a purple moon.
and that's rarer than the blue ones.
i've seen a couple in the bronx maybe 2 months ago. i've considered debating with some i occasionally see in the sub stations, bt the most i ever see are ppl standing with the magazines stretched out. no words, no preaching, just creepiness

they can embed it, but they can always watch the videos on youtube and if that happens...look out for an avalanche of satanism!
there's always the question of what vids are recommended once the original video finishes. that could be pretty devastating too.
imagine watching sparlock only to accidentally click on a recorded jc, or someone's video about why they left...and all on the society's website no less!
